Did you know?
Soap is a salt, made from any types of fatty acid and alkali.
The most common fatty acid used is vegetable oil or animal fat and a general ingredient for alkali is sodium hydroxide. When palm oil is used, the soap can be referred to Sodium palmitate. in the process of mixing fatty acid and alkali, a chemical reaction called saponification happens resulting in soap and water.
Glycerine is a side product from saponification and can be used as moisturizer. Glycerine made from soap saponification is believed to have higher value since natural absorption to skin is better.
